Harper isn't afraid of anything--especially not those damn Winchester morons. She used to like pickles but now she likes ripping the eyes out of newborn babies. She used to enjoy lounging in the sun, but now she much prefers feeling the spray of blood as she slits someone's throat.

Not that she's all evil. She can remember being human, but not often does that affect her. She's a crossroads demon through and through, and delights in collecting on those souls. She's been sticking to the same body for some time now, because she waits until the human she's possessing has gone insane before she releases them. Sometimes she lets them live with that insanity, but more often than not she comes back with a new meatsuit and rips out the heart of her old one.

At first, when Crowley hired her, Harper didn't want to make deals and have her plans interrupted by a crossroads summons. Now she revels in it, and looks forward to the next deal and the next collection.



Harper was once a human, a long, long time ago. She doesn't even remember how she died--only that it happened. And for whatever reason, she was sent to Hell. After days or months or years on the rack, she was throne in the pit to rot with the other lost souls.

Odd as it sounds, Harper made a friend there. His name was Cronen and in life, he'd murdered his wife and newborn son. Harper wasn't yet a demon, but her soul had been twisted and mutated into something halfway between demon and human; that's why she felt the pull to Cronen. He as almost entirely "demon" and it intrigued her.

When the Winchester--yes, Harper had heard all about them--opened the Gates, Cronen and Harper helped each other crawl out. Once they were on the surface a thousand memories came flooding back to Harper. She remembered the first time she'd fallen in love, the summers spent eating watermelon and drinking sun tea, the feeling of water as she swam through her family's lake.

She thought of those things and wanted to vomit. Now all she liked was the feel of Hell's flames on her skin and Cronen's cruel jokes. Following Cronen to a small town somewhere in Indiana, they possessed two attractive-enough humans and made their home. The humans lived with two other people but Harper and Cronen saw to them.

But then Cronen went out one day and never came back. Harper didn't even know where he'd been going. Then, not long after, she'd been summoned by Crowley. He'd hired her to replace a crossroads demon that one of the Winchester boys had sent back to Hell. Harper didn't want the job, but no one says no to the King of Hell.
